Elmore UK authorised as a Lloyd’s of London insurance intermediary

Elmore Insurance Brokers Limited (Elmore), a specialist risk and insurance intermediary with offices in London and Lisbon, has been granted a Lloyd’s of London broking licence for its UK operation effective from November 2021 and is now also directly authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK.

As a Lloyd’s broker, Elmore ceases its status as an Appointed Representative of Bannerman Rendell and joins the world’s leading insurance market and is a member of a select group of brokers who provide specialist insurance across hundreds of countries. Elmore now has direct access to the underwriting expertise in the Lloyd’s global marketplace as well as the specialist knowledge and bespoke services that have distinguished the Lloyd’s brand for more than 300 years.

Elmore is Head Quartered in the heart of the London Market in the Lloyd’s building, and is developing a strong European insurance team in Lisbon. The Lloyd’s licence will help Elmore strengthen its commercial position and extend its international business, which covers a wide range of organisations from start-ups to global corporations. Fintech, digital asset and cyber are key strengths for Elmore, with a growing number of clients across sectors such as infosec, technology, and banking.

Gaining a Lloyd’s licence is a measure of Elmore’s rapid rise and international success, which in 2021 was capped by a Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade. “We were formed just six years ago,” says Elmore’s MD, Simon Gilbert, “and have achieved a lot to be proud of. With our established base in the London Market, our thriving European HQ in Lisbon, and now our Queen’s Award and Lloyd’s licence, we will be sure to build on our success and provide an even better service for our clients.”
