Simon Gilbert

Founder and Managing Director

Simon has a wealth of experience and knowledge of specialist insurance solutions that comes from spending 19 years working in the industry.

Having mastered the intricacies of the insurance transaction with Heath Lambert, he moved on to UIB, where he specialised in risk transfer solutions for a world-wide portfolio of clients. In 2007, Simon was selected to set up a Financial Lines Desk for UIB in the Dubai International Financial Center, exposing him to an even greater spectrum of industry sectors.

Simon joined Howden in 2011 where he managed the cross selling strategy for their international portfolio as well as developing new products such as cyber and reputational harm Insurance.

Simon comes from a long line of Gilberts who have helped shape the Insurance industry for over 100 years. He founded Elmore to build a business that will last the test of time, built on strong values and delivering world-class results for its clients.


Paul Cracroft-Rice

Senior Operations Executive

With over 40 years’ experience in the London market, Paul has an unrivalled breadth of knowledge and experience in the Insurance industry.

Starting with a specialist insolvency insurance team at Bradstock, Blunt & Thompson he then moved on to a Lloyd’s broking role placing property and casualty business as well as high net worth, specie and motor. As the company grew, so did his responsibilities and in 1995 he became a Director, heading up the PI/FI/D&O placing team.

More recently Paul has worked at a senior level at some of the leading broking houses including Alexander Forbes (now Lockton), PYV (latterly Howden), Cooper Gay (now ED) and UIB (still UIB!).

He has been involved in major accounts both in the UK and internationally along with creating insurance schemes for professions such as Solicitors, IFAs and insolvency practitioners.


Christopher Sutherland

Head of Consulting

Having begun his insurance odyssey in 1979, Chris graduated through various underwriting and broking roles with major insurers and broking houses. He began honing his skills as an adviser on insurance aspects of mergers and acquisitions in the mid-1990’s when he became the technical manager and founding member of one of first broking teams formed in the UK focused on M&A.

In 2000 Chris moved to HSBC’s Insurance Broking arm to lead their M&A Insurance Due Diligence team, where he led the provision of advisory support and insurance solutions to private equity houses, venture capitalists, Banks and corporate buyers on UK and multinational transactions with values of up to EUR7 billion.

Chris left HSBC in 2010 following its acquisition by Marsh and since then he has, in various guises, continued to be actively involved in the provision of advice to companies and investors contemplating mergers, acquisitions and other significant company debt exposures or investments on how to protect those investments to ensure the best return.

Other activities have involved Chris designing the insurance elements for innovative membership schemes, trouble shooting on major claims, contract reviews, creating bespoke insurance solutions to remove barriers to transactions caused by unresolved latent liabilities and re-engineering insurance programmes.


James Bromley-Challenor

Senior Claims Consultant

Operating at the forefront of the claims industry in London for the past 28 years, James is highly respected among Insurers and Reinsurers alike for his pragmatic, diligent and determined approach to claims resolution.

His substantial knowledge began when qualifying as a Barrister at Francis Taylor Chambers. James then moved into the Insurance industry to be Deputy Claims Manager at Syndicate 839 at Lloyd’s.  He then went on to Canopius Syndicate where he took on the role of both managing the Syndicate claims as well as underwriting the financial institutions account.

For the next 10 years, James moved in to the world of Loss Adjusting, working for Cunningham Lindsey, Peter Blem Management Services, Recover Re Limited and Tawa Management.  Armed with ‘on the ground’ adjusting insight, James moved back into underwriting to be National Claims Manager for Dual Corporate Risks.

James is the ideal partner to have on side should a claim arise.  Be it complex claims negotiations or requiring an opinion on coverage, with a clear understanding of all sides of the claims process, James contributes not just after a claim has occurred but reviews wordings before to ensure coverage will stand the test of even the most complex loss events.


Andros Richter-Pellon

Senior Client Executive

A senior Casualty expert with a strong focus on the emerging markets and wide expertise in multiple lines of business ranging from General Liability, Product Recall, Management Liabilities, and all types of Personal Accident Insurance.

Having started his insurance career in 2009 on the underwriting side with Generali in Italy and then Hannover Re in Germany; he is adding the risk perspective of an underwriter to the Elmore broking team to implement a thorough in house risk assessment and comprehensive broking strategy.

Andros has a truly international background (Brazilian, German) – having lived, studied and worked in various countries, and brings a wealth of cultural experience and understanding from which our clients benefit.

Having been in the insurance industry in both broking & underwriting roles for many years he complements the Elmore team with his ‘hands on, can do’ approach along with well established relationships with underwriters. Challenging and complex risks are welcome!

Andros holds a Double Degree in Political Sciences and Philology of Latin Languages (Italian/Portuguese) from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt am Main / Germany.


Tom Abbotts

Client and Operations Executive

With qualifications in Accounting and working towards studying for the Chartered Institute of Insurance London Market Practice examinations, Tom brings added technical depth to the Elmore Team.

Tom has exceptional administration skills and a keen eye for getting a transaction over the line. Tom is a guiding light for the other employees, demonstrating his perseverance, dedication and professionalism. With Tom’s support, Elmore’s Clients receive some of the best service levels available, all shaped around a personalized and prompt response.


Dimaggio Rigby

Client Executive

Over the years, Dimaggio has garnered specialist knowledge of the fast moving Cyber and Technology Error and Omissions insurance business lines.

Having commenced his career at Tokio Marine Kiln after securing a place on their highly competitive graduate scheme, he completed quarterly rotations within various divisions gaining first hand knowledge of Cyber, Accident and Health, Aviation, Claims Management and Regulatory Affairs.  He then moved to CFC Underwriting, a well-respected Lloyd’s MGA where he focused on US SME and Mid-Market business as a Cyber underwriter. This afforded him the opportunity to underwrite many industry classes and train at one of the leading Cyber and Technology underwriters.

That entrepreneurial environment coupled with his passion to develop and distribute innovative cyber solutions while understanding the exposure from an underwriting viewpoint, enabled him to move into broking.  Dimaggio has successfully facilitated coverholder and reinsurance treaty arrangements within the USA, Europe and Africa, he has proven cyber distribution experience.

Dimaggio has a Cert CII qualification from the Chartered Institute of Insurance and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Investment from Coventry University and is currently working toward completing his ACII.


Nik Pass

Client Executive

Nik has been working in the Reinsurance industry for five years, developing innovative treaty and facultative solutions between the key insurance centres of the world.

His core skill set has been developed from working on large treaty accounts for Casualty and A&H insurers, along with developing a keen passion in Political Violence Insurance and Crypto Insurance.

Having worked across a wide range of industries, he has developed a pool of insurance solutions specialising in creating bespoke programmes tailored to client needs. Areas include but not limited to the following: Treaty (all classes), Financial Institutions, A&H, Sabotage and Terrorism, Political Violence and Property and Casualty.

Nik is tenacious, with a disciplined and agile approach to broking, always aiming to navigate the optimum solution for his clients.  He is well regarded for delivering great results in short timeframes.


Olivia Dickenson

Operations Executive

Olivia’s willingness to help people with a friendly and approachable attitude while being confident at getting jobs completed in an efficient manner is well regarded by Elmore clients and employees alike.

Olivia works to the best of her ability on all tasks, maintaining a motivated, hardworking and positive approach.  Olivia works on both the account handling and claims management for Elmore and is currently studying towards her London Market Practice Insurance examinations with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
