Simon has a wealth of experience and knowledge of specialist insurance solutions that comes from spending 19 years working in the industry.
Having mastered the intricacies of the insurance transaction with Heath Lambert, he moved on to UIB, where he specialised in risk transfer solutions for a world-wide portfolio of clients. In 2007, Simon was selected to set up a Financial Lines Desk for UIB in the Dubai International Financial Center, exposing him to an even greater spectrum of industry sectors.
Simon joined Howden in 2011 where he managed the cross selling strategy for their international portfolio as well as developing new products such as cyber and reputational harm Insurance.
Simon comes from a long line of Gilberts who have helped shape the Insurance industry for over 100 years. He founded Elmore to build a business that will last the test of time, built on strong values and delivering world-class results for its clients.
With over 40 years’ experience in the London market, Paul has an unrivalled breadth of knowledge and experience in the Insurance industry.
Starting with a specialist insolvency insurance team at Bradstock, Blunt & Thompson he then moved on to a Lloyd’s broking role placing property and casualty business as well as high net worth, specie and motor. As the company grew, so did his responsibilities and in 1995 he became a Director, heading up the PI/FI/D&O placing team.
More recently Paul has worked at a senior level at some of the leading broking houses including Alexander Forbes (now Lockton), PYV (latterly Howden), Cooper Gay (now ED) and UIB (still UIB!).
He has been involved in major accounts both in the UK and internationally along with creating insurance schemes for professions such as Solicitors, IFAs and insolvency practitioners.
Having begun his insurance odyssey in 1979, Chris graduated through various underwriting and broking roles with major insurers and broking houses. He began honing his skills as an adviser on insurance aspects of mergers and acquisitions in the mid-1990’s when he became the technical manager and founding member of one of first broking teams formed in the UK focused on M&A.
In 2000 Chris moved to HSBC’s Insurance Broking arm to lead their M&A Insurance Due Diligence team, where he led the provision of advisory support and insurance solutions to private equity houses, venture capitalists, Banks and corporate buyers on UK and multinational transactions with values of up to EUR7 billion.
Chris left HSBC in 2010 following its acquisition by Marsh and since then he has, in various guises, continued to be actively involved in the provision of advice to companies and investors contemplating mergers, acquisitions and other significant company debt exposures or investments on how to protect those investments to ensure the best return.
Other activities have involved Chris designing the insurance elements for innovative membership schemes, trouble shooting on major claims, contract reviews, creating bespoke insurance solutions to remove barriers to transactions caused by unresolved latent liabilities and re-engineering insurance programmes.
Operating at the forefront of the claims industry in London for the past 28 years, James is highly respected among Insurers and Reinsurers alike for his pragmatic, diligent and determined approach to claims resolution.
His substantial knowledge began when qualifying as a Barrister at Francis Taylor Chambers. James then moved into the Insurance industry to be Deputy Claims Manager at Syndicate 839 at Lloyd’s. He then went on to Canopius Syndicate where he took on the role of both managing the Syndicate claims as well as underwriting the financial institutions account.
For the next 10 years, James moved in to the world of Loss Adjusting, working for Cunningham Lindsey, Peter Blem Management Services, Recover Re Limited and Tawa Management. Armed with ‘on the ground’ adjusting insight, James moved back into underwriting to be National Claims Manager for Dual Corporate Risks.
James is the ideal partner to have on side should a claim arise. Be it complex claims negotiations or requiring an opinion on coverage, with a clear understanding of all sides of the claims process, James contributes not just after a claim has occurred but reviews wordings before to ensure coverage will stand the test of even the most complex loss events.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Ronald has held senior leadership positions in London, and most recently Sao Paulo. As a risk management expert, Ronald has served as a trusted advisor to Boards of Directors of some of the largest corporations in Latin America Region region and beyond.
From 2006 to 2014 Ronald was a Director within Aon UK’s FSG Division, leading the Latin American Financial Lines Team. Then in 2014 Ronald joined Marsh UK’s FINPRO as SVP Business Development Leader to create and lead the Latin American and Caribbean Team.
Shortly thereafter in 2016, Ronald was promoted to Head of FINPRO for Marsh in Latin America and Caribbean, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. There he focused on advising Boards across the region on boardroom risks and helped to identify insurance solutions.
With qualifications in Accounting and working towards studying for the Chartered Institute of Insurance London Market Practice examinations, Tom brings added technical depth to the Elmore Team.
Tom has exceptional administration skills and a keen eye for getting a transaction over the line. Tom is a guiding light for the other employees, demonstrating his perseverance, dedication and professionalism. With Tom’s support, Elmore’s Clients receive some of the best service levels available, all shaped around a personalized and prompt response.
Having worked in number sales driven industries previously, Luke joined Elmore in 2016 to develop the UK and International strategy. He is currently working towards studying for the Chartered Institute of Insurance London Market Practice examinations to broaden his knowledge on the industry.
Luke is part of the business development and broking function with a role to support the insurance requirements of the key industries that Elmore support such as Banking, Investment Management, Financial Advisory and FinTech. Luke has a strong drive to support new clients and great confidence in his ability to liaise with Insurers and Reinsurers to deliver great results.
Olivia’s willingness to help people with a friendly and approachable attitude while being confident at getting jobs completed in an efficient manner is well regarded by Elmore clients and employees alike.
Olivia works to the best of her ability on all tasks, maintaining a motivated, hardworking and positive approach. Olivia works on both the account handling and claims management for Elmore and is currently studying towards her London Market Practice Insurance examinations with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
